Longan (Euphoria longan) Kohala Variety

Longan (Cantonese word which means Dragons eye) It is also called guiyuan in Chinese, mata kucing in Malaysia, nhan in Vietnam, mora in Sri Lanka. Longan is native fruit to Southern China, is now grown in several Asian countries. Longan fruit is round with a brown skin. The flesh inside is white that covers a round brown seed inside. This juicy sweet fruit are available as early as July - September.

The tree can grow upto 25 ft. in height. The longa tree can take low freezing temperature (24-28 deg C). Longan tree can grow in large pots and brought indoors during winter season for people who love to grow them in Northern part of the States.

These plants are air-layered kohala variety longan. They are between 4-5 ft. in height. Fruit last year.
