Pink Orchid Tree (Bauhinia monandra)

Pink  flowered tree with flowers resembling orchids. The orchid tree is a popular ornamental tree.  Medium sized deciduous tree to 25-30ft. Many trees will retain a few leaves throughout the year. Grow in full sun or light shade. Provide moderate water throughout the year. The orchid tree is fairly hardy and can survive to 22-25F. Flowering occurs during winter and spring, making it a popular ornamental that blooms when many other trees are not blooming.
